Bros: After The Screaming Stops

Became something of a hit on twitter as detailed in this article:
Hidden Gem of Christmas TV

Released as a DVD/BluRay in November, it reached an audience waaay beyond fans of the "band" with a BBC4 showing and some word of mouth about it's presence on iPlayer.

If it wasn't for the sad bits, you could laugh your way through the whole thing. Ridiculous arguments and some fantastically Spinal-Tap-level one liners. But they're all genuine.

E.g: "CNN, It's the thinking man's reality show"
"I remember falling asleep in the bath and one of our bodyguards took my picture and sold it...luckily there were bubbles"
"Rome wasn't built in a day but we don't have the time that Rome had"
"If you see a man sweeping the road, that man's a king to me because I'm grateful I don't have to sweep the road"

For those with access to iPlayer, it's Here. Avaialable for another 22 days.

Ok.Read the link you gave and yeah it does sound quite a laff. They really said things as dumb as that? Or is it meant to be a mockumentary? Still not that fussed about watching it though.

I've seen Luke Goss in a couple of Hollywood B-movies. He's not a good enough actor for that.
But yeah I understand why it wouldn't appeal. Ultimately it's about a shite boyband.

Biggest whopper must have been: "We played 15 Wembleys in a row (in 1989)".
No they didn't; they played one.

I used to like those Rock Profile mockumentaries starring David Williams and Matt Lucas. They did amongst others a great Take That one as i recall .

Also loved The Life Of Rock With Brian Pern though that was a spoof rock dock, not a mockumentary. The story of ageing former prog rock superstar Brian Pern and his turgid band Thotch. Starred Simon Day and there was a great series (or 2?) on BBC4 a few years back.

Think it was meant to be ' We ate 15 Wimpey's in a row' easily lost in translation.

Let's all wave our arms about !

Today's Interesting Media Discussion
Are shows like Till Death Us Do Part racist because they depict racist views, or are they non-racist because they satirise the racist views depicted?
Some argue that shows like Till Death Us Do Part are racist because they depict racist views; others hold that they are non-racist because they satirise the racist views depicted.
'Shows like Till Death Us Do Part are racist,' argues one group: 'After all, they depict racist views.' 'No,' argues the other group, They are non-racist. They satirise these racist views depicted.'
However, this argument does not convince the first group. 'These shows are racist,' they argue. 'They must be racist because they depict racist views.' But the counterarguing group counterargues its counterargument: 'Yes, these shows do depict racist views. But they are non-racist because they satirise the racist views depicted.'
What do you think? Are these shows racist because they depict racist views? Or are they non-racist because they satirise the racist views depicted?
We took this discussion onto the streets. Are shows like Till Death Us Do Part racist? They depict racist views, don't they?... Or are they non-racist because they actually satirise these racist views depicted?
Some argued that these shows are racist, and pointed to the racist views they depict, whereas others held the opposite view, arguing that they were actually satirising these racist views.
Who knows?

TV highlight for me over last few months was that series DEVS on BBC2 about the California tech company with the quantum physics computer being able to see backward and forward in time.

Just started watching series 2 of What We Do In The Shadows, hilarious vampires comedy on BBC2.
