http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u...%26y%3D0&h=0AQFHJ3VzFollowing their first full UK tour in late May/early June of this year and a recent headline performance at The Hop Farm, Peter Hook And The Light take “Unknown Pleasures” on the road to a host of new venues across England in late November 2012. The Light are set to play the widely acclaimed album sequentially and in its entirety along with other classic and lesser known material from Warsaw and Joy Division’s repertoires.
Receiving great reviews and reactions on the early Summer dates including some five star reviews and hugely admiring comments, The Light recently completed performing the trilogy of Joy Division’s official album releases with two “Still” concerts in Manchester in May 2012 and have now come to play every single Joy Division track ever released.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...4gnbz34&feature=plcpDrawing on this in their extensive live sets, The Light have toured constantly since first performing “Unknown Pleasures” back in May 2010 and have taken the show across the world to the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, Australia, New Zealand and practically every European country, drawing crowds that encompass both original Joy Division fans and the younger generation influenced by the band’s material.
With the full performance of “Unknown Pleasures” at the centre of the show, The Light play the first album in track order replicating the album experience and atmosphere created by legendary producer, Martin Hannett. Hannett’s studio mastery along with the rawness of the bands first album material means that the reputation of the LP remains as powerful as ever, with fans and also the bands who are acknowledged to have taken on the template of Joy Division’s sound in the modern era.
“Unknown Pleasures”, considered one of the most stunning debut albums ever released, came to yield many landmark tracks, including “Disorder” “Insight”, “New Dawn Fades”, and “She’s Lost Control” but alongside the album,The Light also turn to Hooky’s early repertoire to perform many other Warsaw and Joy Division tracks, some of which have never been played live previously apart from within The Light’s live performances.
Supports on the tour come from Shinies (http://soundcloud.com/shinies) at the Coventry, Preston, Leicester, Stoke, Leeds and Newcastle concerts and Tiny Philips (http://www.tinyphillips.com) at the Southend, Exeter, Norwich, Portsmouth, Gloucester, and Brighton gigs.
On “Peter Hook And The Light” Live:
“Nights like this are a reminder what music lovers have missed out on for three decades”
M.E.N., May 2010
"The shows turned out to be truly unique in their own distinctive way, but what can be said is that they shared a similar celebratory vibe, a celebration of all things Joy Division. Peter Hook had the responsibility of assembling a band and live show that would musically represent Joy Divisions short yet rich history as a group that changed British rock music forever, he succeeded in doing just that.” Big Wheel Magazine, Sept 2011
"A heart-rending homage to the original band, and a great example of rock showmanship."
National Post, Sept 2011
“Stirring, emotive and exceptionally impressive....Hooky and the band reinvigorated the old material with real passion.....Hooky has one eye on posterity and he knows which band's legacy he's been left to defend. Long may he keep fighting.”
Word Magazine, December 2011
“5 Stars – A fitting tribute to one of the greatest bands Britain has ever produced. Hooky pulled it off and then some.”
Sunday Mail, May 2012
“Hook is dispelling the naysayers, the doubters, reclaiming his music and delivering it the way he always wanted to, as the song ends he looks emotional, he strips to the waist, balls his shirt and tosses it into the crowd.
Joy Division were always a rock band, and Peter Hook will always be a rock star – but a rock star who wears his heart on his sleeve and isn’t ashamed to show his emotions.
Magnificent.”
Louder Than War, May 2012
