Just wondering what new order would sound like in the hands of a capable and popular group of noisemakers

Has it come to this?

Okay: The riff in this track is reminiscent of Way of Life. Lars (the drummer) has discussed his love of bands as varied as Kraftwerk and Oasis, so he probably enjoys some New Order.

Can't say many would be looking forward to their take on something like Temptation. Blue Monday would be pretty funny, though.

And why is the thread title "Metallica plays New Order"? They don't. May I suggest changing the title to "If Metallica played New Order".
And perhaps also move it to Behind Closed Doors

Welsh rockers LostPhophets used to segue the first verse of BM into one of their own tracks live. Alas now that their lead singer is serving 35 years for being one of the nastiest individuals on the planet, it may not be something to shout about.
