Yeah I saw on Twitter this morning that the new Charlatans album is something of a "guest-fest" with both Johnny Marr and Paul Weller also involved. Their second album after Jon Brookes' passing, what a shame. Hard to believe it's been over two years since 'Modern Nature' already. I remember watching them play a mini-set at Rough Trade East in London to launch it. Emilie (which Steve played on, on the LP) was a jaunty little track. Edited by user 20 March 2017 08:08:27(UTC)
| Reason: On the LP...

Their song called MIS-TAKES from their album YOU CROSSED MY PATH was a total New Orderish song from start to finish, I love this song especially the ending https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ5nV-2MJwU |

Chappy could mean a new single / EP / album / re-workings of old stuff for MIF.
Any & all of which would be just fine by me! :D

Any & all of which would be just fine by me! :D I'm taking "new material" to mean just that. Fully realized versions of Plastic and Singularity debuted live in 2014, so were likely began in 2013 or earlier. Not a stretch to believe they're cooking up tracks now that may not see release for a year or two.

I should probably start a new thread on this, as it has f**k all to do with the Charlatans, but following on from previous posts above about Chapman & Cunningham, here's a new tweet from Chappers.

Well fuck that. Really. Fuck all of it. Just fuck it. Pop stars shouldn't be 'lovely to have around', they should be snorting cocaine out of prostitutes' arseholes and making awesome music. 'Yerse, Sidney Vicious is such a sweetie, he always washes the dishes after our vegan casserole and perfectly-temperatured lightly sparkling mineral water, mmmmm loves yer babes.' Fuck it. This is like in the early 90s when it was all off-shoots, Hassie, Factory, one-offs etc. I always wished they'd just shut the fuck up and make another album as good as Technique. I guess they did in the end, but it took 25 years, inter-personnel problems and the Other Spew.
