Missed it. You guys gotta start recording these broadcasts if you catch them. Just open Audacity and hit record, it's easy. I hope this one will be available for On Demand listening.
Was anything interesting said?

Was anything interesting said? Yeah i keep meaning to look into getting Audacity.I have Krystal which i i downloaded for free some time back when i found the multi tracks for Blue Monday - had all sorts of fun doing my own mixes of it.Think i tried recording radio with it once but couldn't work it out, it didn't work anyway. Is it easier to do with Audacity? What i caught of the interview it sounded like a carbon copy of the Jo Wiley one! Bernard recounting his story of how the Iggy collaboration came about and doing his low voiced Iggy impersonation again . At the end the interviewer (that woman who was one of the talking heads on the Sky Arts New Order doc thing back in the summer) asked him if there was one thing he could take away or had learnt from making this album what would it be? "Never give up" was Bernards's reply.

Was anything interesting said? You're assuming we have Audacity on our computers in the first place! In fact I did download Audacity a while ago but I think I had a problem. I understand that in order to save a recording you have to 'export' and save it as an MP3 file. However when I try to do that I get a message: "Audacity needs the file lame_enc.dll to create MP3s". Well I have something called lame 3.99.5 in My Documents. But I guess my PC doesn't like that or isn't able to find it or... I don't know what. So I know how to hit record but I never manage to save anything! As for the interview, I got a text (as it was starting) from a friend who knows I'm a NO fan. I think the whole segment was only 10-15 mins long. And a lot of that was taken up with two album tracks: Superheated and Stray Dog. Between the tracks Barney spoke to Danielle Perry about working with Elly Jackson ("she's a very opinionated young lady") and Iggy Pop (the impersonation: "Yeah I can do it"). So pretty similar stuff to what Barney said in the interview with Arther Baker I think. Nothing mind blowing, and no other band members.

I think if you go to the audacity website, it will give you the lame download. You then have to direct audacity to use it when exporting to MP3/wav/etc. It's a bit tricky but once you've done it you won't need to muck around with it again. There's also lots of help guides on that site. Kristal is a brilliant free audio editor. I used to use it all the time (before I used iPad to create music) and made my cover of Lets Go with it.

3 years for superheated ? Why did Bernard let the other guy finish the song? Bernard's vocal limitations are what endears , not perfection . |
