Hi,

Dave here, formerly of this parish as Happy Jack nearly 20 years ago (worrying).

I had a small part in putting together this documentary that went out on BBC4 a week or so back that includes an interview with Hooky. If you've heard / read any of his interviews from the last few years you'll be familiar with most of what he talks about, although he does mention some specific detail about what the oft-mentioned court action is about.

I had access to some of the master tapes for the archive that's included, one of which was the Whistle Test live at the Hacienda gig in 85 (of which As It Is When It Was and Sunrise were broadcast). The version of Sunrise that's on YouTube fades out at the end of the credits, but the master tape has the whole track, plus about 2 minutes of Face Up after it, which was a nice find. Sorry, but no, it's not going on the YouTubes.

If you're in the UK, the show is available on iPlayer at the link below.

I watched the programme last Friday though i thought it was a repeat?

Isn't the full footage of Sunrise from the Hac Whistle Test Dec 85 thing already on YouTube?Confused I 've certainly seen it sometime somewhere and think i have it downloaded or was sent to me ages ago.Or maybe it was on YouTube but has since been taken down.It wasn't used in the programme anyway as i'm sure you know but was nice to see Thieves from TOTP in 1984 usedSmile

saw this and thought it was pretty weak. if all you're got to actually interview is the drummer from GnR, guitarist from police and hooky it kind of shows how much of a nobody the presenter is. everything else was *yawn* same old stuff, same old clips. waste of bbc4 money IMO
