Cool beans. I agree with those comments about GAWI interrupting the flow of the original, but of course it makes commercial sense to include it, and you only have to lift the needle once to skip it (great though it is).

Absolutely. The half-time breather was a vital part of the listening experience pre-CD and Gangster was one of their toughest (and first) tracks so it worked as a climax to the first side - then Soviet as a mellow intro to part two, which similarly climaxed with FEB. The inclusion of the namby-pampy, wet GAWI didn't disrupt the CD but ruins the LP for me. Claud Flowers talks about the problems of pacing the album in his buke, but draws different conclusions.

Cool. I will pre-order one, of course. I really didn't know the original vinyl release have not came with "Getting away with it". My 1991 brazilian LP got this track at the end of the side one and no "Gangster" at all. This album was officially released here by Warner at that time and perhaps the record company opted to include the hit single to aid the sales instead to maintain "Gangster". |

I got my copy of reissued LP from Amazon a few weeks back. From an artwork perspective, they did a really nice job on this one. Parlophone/Warners even gave it a FACT 290 catalog number. It looks much better than the 2xCD deluxe edition a few years ago, where the black and orange separation on the back sleeve did not align with the front cover.
