Somebody last night chose joy division as his specialist subject. He got 12 points, I managed one better but I'm sure there is more pressure in THE chair than being at home. The two I got wrong was first gig outside Manchester, I thought London, answer was in fact Newcastle. The other question was a first line of a song where the answer was Autosuggestion. It's the only time I,ve ever felt the urge to watch mastermind. I was visiting my mums house at the time with my daughter and I think that was the most proud i,ve seen my Mum as I rattled off the answers. I then turned the TV off so she couldn't watch me miserably fail at general knowledge:)

Topics about Gary Numan albums twice featured on tonight's University Challenge: The Pleasure Principleand Quarks ( Strange Charm). New Order tracks featured in University Challenge in 2009 and 2010 (both 'the MUSIC round'). If you saw it, you'll not only wonder where your hard-earned taxes have been... away (a student thought Blue Monday was first released in 1981),  but having heard what Paxman had to say about New Order("apparently...") you may just decide to start watching BBC TWO's Newsnight again! - no lie...  I mentioned how Joy Division featured in a question this season on University Challenge in recent posts. |
