It's been said before by others but for me this was another great period for new order. The excitement of having them back together, new album, songs appearing that weren't on the album, great b sides with sabotage being one of them. So whilst it was certainly good enough yo be on GR I'm glad it wasn't in a way just like new order of old. The only downside for me was that some of these b sides never appeared on the vinyl 12" and as a collector of NO vinyl this was disappointing. Maybe a vinyl only comp of this period would be good at sometime in the future.

Behind closed doors
Player in the league
Sabotage
Such a good feeling
Brutal
Control sound track full versions
Vietnam
Vicious circle from republic period
Temptation later version from this period.
Here to stay

I,my sure there are others that I missed

Thanks to this post, I've really been listening to the Get Ready era B Sides ...

I must say, Sabotage and Behind Closed Doors are stellar tunes, and a good deal better than some of the stuff that was actually put on Get Ready.

Sabotage is dark and has really beautitful melodies, especially Bernard's lead guitar melody and the synth lead at the end. Great lyrics too, really heartfelt.

I also love Behind Closed Doors, kind of a dark, urban trip hop track that makes me think of Massive Attack a bit. Lyrically, it seems to be one of Bernard's "character" songs, and he see,s to be singing/writing from the point of view of poor working class people who piss their miserable lives away in a haze of drugs and booze and TV. I really identify with this...I grew up in such a neighborhood and going back for Xmas recently really made me think of this song.

I know it's been talked about before, but Get Ready could have been a very different album if these songs had been included, and if Here To Stay had been done all the time.

My ideal Get Ready tracklisting:

1. Crystal
2. 60 Miles an Hour
3. Close Range
4. Player In the League
5. Run Wild
6. Vicious Streak
7. Sabotage
8. Close Range
9. Primitive Notion
10. Someone Like You
11. Here To Stay

I seem to recall Warners doing a free online preview of Get Ready and Behind Closed Doors being included as part of the album. Maybe it was originally intended to be an album track but they dropped it just before release?

I do agree Behind Closed Doors is a great song, as are most of the other Get Ready era b-sides and rarities. However I think Such a Good Thing is absolutely dreadful, probably the worst thing they have ever written in my opinion (yes that means even worse than Working Overtime).
