These guys make great videos for ok songs. I'm "Tempted" to say I detect a slight New Order influence on this one:
The Writing's on the Wall

I am working on the promotional/marketing campaign for this record at my job. It is very New Ordery and miles better than their old stuff (which I never cared for).

Yeah, I like that, good pop song really. Nice video as well.

The New Order influences are clear but that's no bad thing; the bass is so Hooky it hurts.

Not sure I'm that keen on the rest of the tracks on the EP though, one song veers into Maroon 5 territory which is never good.

Still, I'll give the album a go when it comes out... new musak and all that...

Yes, the keyboard riff at the beginning, a bit of the melody, bass thing in the middle, and of course the "oooh oooh oooh oooh" thing certainly sound strikingly similar to Temptation. I would guess they are fans. The Killers are another band that admits to being influenced by New Order and other bands in the 80s when they were growing up. Nothing wrong with tipping your hat to a band you like IMO.

I'm at an age where it doesn't bother me if a band wears its influences on its sleeve or even tries to copy a sound as long as they add something creative to it. I don't understand why people get their panties in a was because the One Direction dude wore a Joy Division shirt. Does it hurt your enjoyment of the music knowing a cheesy pop band also might listen? That is like saying gay marriage will affect my marriage. It makes no sense.
