So they've delayed it.
"By the end of the year", now "in the new year".

I wish it were coming earlier.

I only just read that Bernard had his own solo project in the 80's that didn't go anywhere.
Too much stuffing around with this group.

I'm sure it's made it's way around the web by now but "Tim & Friends" including Steve and Gillian played Love Vigilantes and LWTUA at the Jon Brookes gig on Friday. They were one of the first acts to take to the stage. Towards the middle of The Charlatans set they made a surprise appearance in the Gallery Standing area and chatted with some of us which was an unexpected treat, really good of them to make the effort. We were all speculating on what would be played beforehand I.e. Lonesome Tonight, Murder etc. but in the end it was a whole lotta "Love".

Did anyone really think we would be getting any new material this year? 2014 has always been a lot more of a realistic proposition especially as they were touring internationally for a good old portion of this year. This material in particular will be a big deal for them as it will be the first New Order material minus you-know-who and controversial from the word go. I think they're entitled to take their time a bit and get it right.

Oh and get well soon Gillian regarding the ankle... ouch.

Nope.Once they'd said they weren't going into the studio until the kids were back at school i.e September it was a given in my view that we wouldn't see a release until the new year.I'd wager they'll be faffing around in the studio well into November and then all the other palaver then it's Christmas . Can't imagine them putting anything out just before Christmas. Though radio stations play upcoming releases a month or so before release so we might get to hear something on the radio before the end of the year?

Sure but they should stop making promises they can't keep. I think the last time something came out on time was One True Passion... And Hooky later confessed he'd rushed it to get on the road!

Absolutely spot on, Ally.

Hey, come on Michael, this is Neworder remember. They're simply keeping one tiny bit of the old Factory Ethos alive.

Wonder when they'll commission the artwork???

Though of course " in the new year" doesn't necessarily mean January if we're talking New Order. I reckon May.

Hey ho.

It could be any new year, not necesarrily the next one, as Moz once sang ""...in the new year"
(It's never in this year)"

Is this the Factory ethos then? Cheers, I didn't know. Lads, remember that next time you jizz in your partner's mouth. 'Just keeping the memory alive, darling.' One swallow doesn't make a Summer. But it does mean she likes you.
2015...?

even if they've already worked out and even recorded new tracks, they will still have to mix it, redo some overdubs, go back and redo 1 or 2 of them, find some chick to do backing vocals, make sure none of the basslines are similar to Hooky's to avoid lawsuits, then finally remix it again, then master it, figure out the artwork, etc etc etc

2015 at the earliest

Just as long as they don't end up like Robert Smith. Love The Cure, but he consistently gets fans hopes up for a release of material... and then... nothing.

Um, sorry to break it to you but I think they 'ended up' like that over 20 years ago.
