Hello,

It's been... a long time since the last update, but now it's done. The New Order Discography @ http://www.niagara.edu/neworder/ is finally updated and live (you may have to refresh your cache if you've visited recently).

I have added lots of stuff and loads of scans/photos. I have also fixed info and removed dubious entries. Of course there will be incorrect and missing information. Please inform me about that and I will fix/include it in the next update, around year 2017 that is...

So I've never owned the Peel Sessions on CD.
I prefer the artwork on this version: http://www.discogs.com/N...el-Sessions/master/55470
but reading the comments on Discogs, it suggests that only four of the eight listed tracks are actually on the CD. Was this common on this version of the release?
If so presumably I'm better off getting this version?

Very common, in fact i remember taking three different copies back to three different cities to try and get one that had a full 8 tracks!

Never listened to the cd since, but,on further investigation i actually have THREE different copies of this album! WTF!

I have both pressings of the Peel Sessions CDs and the sound is pretty much identical as is the track listing.

Also, both of my pressings have the full 8 tracks... the 4 track glitch must have been in very limited quantities.

The more recent one with the newer BBC artwork is not remastered so I've always stuck to the original 1990 one.

Yeah, I prefer the older artwork as well..

Mine has all 8 tracks too, also the cover with Barney's shadow is among my favorite NO artwork.

Thanks for the Peel Sessions replies, I may just take a risk and go for the original artwork.

On a more obsure matter, looking at the discography and details about the "Rest Of..."
The Q&A section at the bottom mentions the dates on the inside of the spine of the box.
My version (2cd) has the: 19.6.93 [heart symbol] 17.7.94 printed on there. Anyone know what that's about?
This may be my geekiest question ever. The answer might not change my life...

Yeah there’s history there - it’s first incarnation was the text discog that Rich (who had the Niagara Uni connection) and I did around 1992 for rec.music.alternative (I think) Usenet group and the Ceremony email list.

It was also the one the band always referred to when facts were required 😆

T and Rich drove it later when I started focussing on the Factory Discog site; and both sites then ‘fed’ DIRECTLY into sites like WIM (!!).

When Discogs took off discography sites like ours became less necessary, but the info collected fed into the official sites like the one I did for Joy Division, and I shifted attention to the NOTracks blog.
