i realise i'm rather late to the party, but this has made my day:
i now have such a crush on them i feel a bit sick. the last time i was so smitten by a whole band was the bangles. Edited by user 22 June 2013 11:34:02(UTC)

It was very popular on BBC Radio 2 when I tortured myself listening to the station 1999-2000! Ireland had Talk Talk. Scotland had The Associates. Wales had Scritti Politti. Classy tune. Like it. |

Ireland had Talk Talk? I'm from Ireland and I'm pretty sure we didn't.

I remember a interview with Green Gartside , he said he was a big Joy Division fan and had spoken to Ian , days before his suicide...although he wouldn't elaborate on the conversation he had. |

I heard an interview with Green Gartside fairly recently, within the last year or so.Didn't know til then that they were still around though Gartside is the only remaining original member? That Cupid & Psyche album was bloody everywhere around 84-85, absolutely unavoidable. Every song had an ultra flashy production.Gone for Wood Beez, though i also remember Absolute and maybe one or two more.Think The Word Girl was from a later album?

Speaking of which... The re-release of this in 1990 brings back happy memories.. I had missed out on this song when it was first released so it was new to me at the time.
