i am no longer even trying to second guess 'the returned'. c'est IMPOSSIBLE.
i have been watching the new series of miss marple, and the americans.
i do like this revamped marple. i like the titles artwork. so fifties. and the programmes are generally excellent - top notch production values and solid casts at the very least. fiona shaw was brilliant in sunday's episode, although the rest of it wasn't terribly wonderful - and while i am fond of that blonde girl from fresh meat, she was woefully miscast and her performance abysmal. especially compared with charity wakefield the week before, who was ASTONISHING. mesmeric, at moments.
i am really enjoying the americans, although i am a bit sad that no-one else seems to be watching it but me, so i have no-one to talk to about it. matthew rhys is great in everything i see him in. except for that one thing when he was dylan thomas.

Not feeling Glastonbury yet. It's gone too The One Show. Bring back Primal Scream's spirit of 2005 when they insulted the whole Pyramid Stage audience, refused to leave the stage resulting in the plug being pulled on them and called Basement Jaxx cocksuckers

At the end of the Tom Tom Club's set, the drummer announced that the band would be signing merchandise at the "signing area".. How Rock And Roll is that?

Though there is then a one and a half hour wait til the Stones come on at 9.30pm so things could have gone a bit lukewarm by then . Apparently the Stones want a whole 90 minutes to set their stage up.

Shades of 2005 again, Primals on now and Bobby Gillespie seems to be getting pissed off with the crowd's lack of enthusiasm. Repeatedly asking them to liven up and before Loaded he asked "Just what is it you wanna do? Commit suicide?" Think he's pissed/stoned/high Edited by user 29 June 2013 15:10:01(UTC)

Gillespie just asked the crowd if someone had dosed them with valium Really don't know why Primal Scream play Glastonbury, they never seem to enjoy it and Gillespie ends up insulting the crowd.Or they should at least stick to the Other Stage where they'd get more enthusiasm Edited by user 29 June 2013 11:08:39(UTC)

Well things seem to pick up when the 3 girls of Haim joined them on stage to do backing vocals on last few songs- Rocks , Come Together and another one that i can't remember name of. They got there in the end but by that time it was the end of the set.

Hmm I missed most of Glastonbury yesterday as I was at another gig - Hard Rock Calling, on a cheap ticket (50 quid? bollox!). How many Stones songs did the BBC get? Do they have any repeat rights? I caught some of the Primals around 1am last night/this morning. 'It's Alright, It's Ok' seems to work better live than on record imho. The other clips looked fine too, but alas I didn't see any of Bobby's crowd-goading. Too bad.

Yeah when BBC repeated a few Primal Scream songs later on they looked and sounded good but didn't sound and look so good when i watched the whole set live on the red button 7-8pm.Good editing by the Beeb i guess. Obviously they didn't repeat Gillespie's crowd goading but he definitely was getting arsey with the crowd a fair bit when i watched it live.He was always going to struggle against a crowd basically just waiting for the Stones though. I just think they shouldn't have taken that spot, should have played an(Other) stage. BBC showed i think the last hour of the Stones, including the encore. I'd previously thought i'd read that the Beeb were only allowed by the Stones to show the first hour of the set but as it turned out it was the last hour which was a better idea really. Think it was about 9 songs that were aired - Miss You Midnight Rambler 2000 Light Years From Home Sympathy For The Devil Start Me Up Tumbling Dice Brown Sugar Encore You Can’t Always Get What You Want (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction You can watch the hour or so the BBC showed here.Go to about 13mins in The full Primals set is probably to be found somewhere on that site also Edited by user 30 June 2013 04:55:05(UTC)

Factory™ wrote:Think i've developed a soft spot for Primal Scream's bass player. Simone is her name? She's sweet Simone came from a crappy folky-indie band that struggled to sell out venues like London's Borderline. She basically auditioned and got the part. You'll find similar admiring talk of her on the Webadelica forum (where Mani occasionally logs in as "Mr Gary" to say hi). The general consensus is that she's cute and competent but the Scream fans miss Mani.

Poor Victor? what about poor Lena.. XX on BBC3 now, Nick Cave is on the red button where I am, Public Enemy were on it before him.. Am really liking the XX with their austere stage setting, very 1940s style...
