And when the old geezer set fire to his home why did he leave the fire and then hop off the dam to his (presumed) death? Also how come the girl he tied up (his daughter?) wasn't found by the firemen?

I presumed the woman was his wife who was also a returnee. She looked a lot younger than him because she died many years ago but returned as the age she was when she died.My theory is that her body wasn't found by the firemen because as she'd already died and when she "died" again her body vanished because she was never alive in the first place.Maybe.

Yeah i thought that first. The girl Camille for example. But if i'm not mistaken some of the returned are ones that died many years before.

if it's set now (which i think it is) then that bloke who looks like he's in a new york new wave band died 10 years ago, didn't he? we saw him looking at his own headstone...

i don't have any theories yet, only thoughts.

1) so far two living people have died directly or indirectly as a result of those returning - the barmaid, and the old man. is there a price/exchange?

2) is the little boy a returnee or an agent of the return? if the former, given his returning to that woman and her not knowing who he is, maybe he's an abortion or miscarriage she had in the past?

C'EST TOUT, FOLKS!

Yes, why is the water level dropping? Is it a slo-mo representation of the town having been flooded?

Maybe the whole town is dead/flooded and doesn't realise it. When the lights flickered out, did that represent the end of reality? Is it all some sort of purgatory after that?...

Thanks for making me watch bloodynora, now I'm going to have to stay dedicated for another seven weeks! Evil

Yes, that New York indie band bloke (Simon?) - his gravestone had his death as in 2002.

Regarding the barmaid who got stabbed to death in the subway- in the trailer for the series (from your link ) you see for a brief second a clip of what looks like her, looking (shocked) at numerous stab wounds on her body.So i assume she returns at some point too.

Rather drunk last night i found myself digging out my recording of the Olympics Opening Ceremony.Nearly a year on and it was still totally electrifying and moving as fuck.Still the best thing on telly ever.Had the sound on Pandemonium segment pumping out the stereo.

Never did quite work out what the Beatles Sergeant Pepper had to do with the industrial revolution though Laugh

that was only a YEAR ago?! it feels like forever. when i'm pissed i'm moved and electrified by elo/olivia newton john's xanadu. Wink

the man who designed that petally torch has got something in the honours list today.

things i've watched this week: secret life of cats (good), poirot (quite poor, but riddled with pretty girls in enviable period frocks).

i think i will probably go and see joss whedon's much ado, but through narrowed, deeply suspicious eyes. i am still smarting from 'the cabin in the woods' fiasco. apparently his take on this play is ideal for "anyone who's ever been frustrated by the lack of fingering in shakespeare". Smile

So that woman looking at her stab wounds in the trailer that i thought was the barmaid come back to life, returned, wasn't the barmaid but the woman involuntarily finding herself looking after the annoying Victor boy? So there's two women with stab wounds?

Seems that way. But there would appear to be an inconsistency here.
If the others (e.g Camille and Thomas) have come back the same age they were when they died, shouldn't The Lady Doctor (I think that was her profession in episode one) be dealing with Victor the foetus? Gross I know, but surely more consistent.

Well they said in episode two yesterday that the barmaid isn't actually dead, just in a reeallly bad way. So we could yet see her looking at her wounds/scars if she recovers (or dies and returns). And as the 'murdery one' is "back" and is a serial attacker, it would make sense that more than one woman has been stabbed etc. I'm not convinced that the attacker is actually the guy they suspect though; that would be too easy. In fact I think we already saw the guy who attacked the barmaid didn't we?

Further hints to support my "dam bursting and drowning the town into purgatory" theory: I noticed in last nights opening credits that we see a drowned deer bobbing around under water. Strange gurgling noises and a sink filling up with water from the drain. And also the logo or "ident" (as they say in TV-land) for the show is an image of people reflecting back differently in water. (I'm pretty sure the stabbed woman in this picture is the barmaid isn't it?)

yeah, that's the barmaid. and he is a serial attacker/killer, so there will be more than one woman damaged by him. the bloke what done it walloped the police suspect with a spade, after having been walloped himself, didn't he? presumably they're brothers?

the purgatory/whole town wiped out by burst dam theory *would* make sense of the (newly dead?) population being reunited with the long dead, and the long dead being the same age as when they popped their clogs.

not convinced yet though. very, very interested to see how it will unfold...

I thought they were father and son, as he arrives at the house muttering "where are they?", then asks the guy suspected by the police where 'Mother' is, but not where his father is. But I may have it wrong, it is foreign after all!
