I couldn't find any mention of this via the forum search but I don't know how reliable that is - so apologies if this has been discussed in the past This appears to be genuine? https://www.ebay.com/itm/335947894387?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0Quote:official promo-only 7" that was released on the 2nd of September 2023 to celebrate Jon Savage's 70th birthday.
Features a version by New Order of Joy Division's "Disorder" with the "correct lyrics" according to the liner notes.
The record is manufactured in such a way that it has got a sticker over the centre-hole that reads "FACSAVAGE70". You will need to break/remove the sticker in order to play the 7". I haven't done this, hence no soundclip below.
This 7" was manufactured in 250 copies by Third Man Pressing in Detroit and was supposed to be distributed at Jon Savage's 70th birthday party, but the party never took place and the records were instead distributed to the people involved with its release. Very few copies have come onto the market.
This package comes housed in a clear plastic sleeve and includes:
one-sided pink coloured New Order "Disorder" 7" fold-over picture sleeve to the 7" 60-page booklet (4.5" x 7") containing info, art, pictures, dedications and write-ups from Peter Saville, Johnny Marr, Neil Tennant, Vivien Goldman, Mary Harron, Matthew Higgs, John Morton, Greil Marcus, Mat Bancroft, Lesley Gilbert, Johan Kugelberg, Carlo McCormick, Stephen Morris, John Ingham, Katherine Reagan etc. postcard style insert (4" x 6") with pressing/rights info on one side and "How do we kill Saville?" note on the other white inner sleeve with Jon Savage's birth date "9/2/53" rubber stamped

Interesting. Do we have any idea what the recording is? One of their live versions already released elsewhere, or a studio version? What's meant by "with the correct lyrics"?

What's meant by "with the correct lyrics"? Weird one - pretty much all the lyric sites have the line in the first verse as "These sensations barely interest me for another day" But in the book of Ian's lyrics and clearly on the UP version he sings "Lose sensation, spare the insults, leave them for another day" In all the PH & The Light recordings I have - Hooky sings the version from the lyric sites As does Bernard in the MIF and EEE recordings I guess someone pointed it out since then and they have changed it - which would mean it's a new unreleased version? I don't think they have played it live since November 2018 in South America. The Corona Capital gig was streamed and Bernard is still singing the "barely interest" version Edited by user 14 May 2025 06:53:28(UTC)
