Steve feigned annoyance over me bringing up their studio floor repair. But with his confirmation that the repairs are done, perhaps they'll begin work on some new material in the new year.

Was pretty good but maybe not as interesting as previous ones like the Low Life and PCL ones were.

I’m still a little unclear which part or parts on Music Complete have the dulcimer instrument on that Steve mentioned once or twice last night and which he also posted a pic of.

Don’t think I’ve heard the gigs where early performances of Plastic included Steve banging a gong at the end.

Gillian posted a pic of the guy doing the mixing of the album and said that took place in Dec 2014. I had been under the impression that the mixing didn’t take place til May 2015 as it had taken til then to finish recording. So they’d actually finished recording by end of 2014?

Was good but not at the same level as the previous Twitter listening parties.

I found it interesting to read that Academic, which I rate as one of the best songs of MC, was actually composed by Tom & Phil while it sounds so much techniquee! Now I understand the title: it was Tom & Phil taking lessons at the New Order Academy of Music Big Grin

Also interesting to learn that the band members worked in their respective studios. If I've understood well, they didn't actually meet during the recording, at least not for several days or weeks like they usually do. It would explain why I've always thought that raw spontaneity was missing in this album and why I don't rate it as high as most NO fans do.

It's common to mix the first single in advance because it has to roll out ahead of the album. It doesn't mean he was mixing the entire album. Recording is not as linear as it once was, with everyone having home studios now.
