Karl Bartos's new album came out today in Germany, I was listening to it and noticed this track sounds familiar.
Have a listen;
http://www.sharebeast.com/1d6zdhrf3mo0

Most notably is the string-esque synths at the start.
Gives a different feel to it. As you'd expect more Kraftwerk-y sounding and of course without Bernard's vocals or Johnny's guitar.

It's really nice to hear all this Electronic music this year, with the re-release of the debut album, Johnny Marr performing some of their songs live, and these songs from Bartos.

Another thing that's interesting is the title. It's similar to the opening line "Not a trace of emotion remains inside" from another track in Raise the Pressure.

Yeah it's like the mid-90's when New Order were and weren't!
Can't hear the 'Lec in Without a Trace of Emotion though...?

Interesting that RTP is still being referenced even now. I loved RTP and I don't know why it wasn't a major success.

In this country at least the masses were more into wanky crap like OASIS and other Brit-Pop nobodys.

It wasn't a major success because Bernards idea of promoting it was a handful of TV appearances and some interviews. if they had toured summer of '96, got themselves on a Oasis support slot, they would have had a LOT more visibility.

Personal taste and all that but I've tried and tried and just can't dig RTP: hackneyed Britpop, synth-by-numbers, one long soozefest. Hardly lived up to the MM 95 interview - http://www.feeleverybeat...melodymaker20may1995.jpg - and I ain't surprised it wasn't well received. Worst thing the Barnster's ever done IMHO.
