Soundography podcast # 23: Bernard SumnerThere is a podcast by 2 guys who listen to every album by a band, then they talk about it. This time they picked Barney, the first time they are doing an artist not a band. So they listen to every JD, NO, Elec and BLou album, then go threw it and talk for 1 1\2 hours about him. I really enjoyed it, it was nice to hear people who dont really know New Order listen to it all and seeing what they think. They get all their info from Wikipedia. And it's hilarious to hear, and how much they get wrong. I will give you a hint, they said Republic is their favorite then Sirens, and lowlife is the worst. Must not be fans of Hooky My favorite part is at about the 4min mark when one of them say, Bernard maybe the worst singer they have done. Loved it. If you want to check it out, just go to iTunes or any podcatcher and type in soundography it's done by Bryan Ibbot Edited by user 12 April 2017 07:59:23(UTC)

Tempted to give it a listen but not sure I want to spend 90 minutes listening to people who don't know what the fuck they're talking about. I get enough of that here. Oh!

To be fair, there are not many singers out there who are worse than Sumner and have managed to make a career out out it. Maybe the guy from The Pogues and he may/may not be deceased.... |

One of them does say he is just a guy in his basement, while Bernard is a very successful rockstar. And even they think he is a musical genius.
It's just a podcast, even we could make our own weekly/monthly New Order cast. Now there is an idea.
With great lines like Gillian put neworderish into new order, 586 grew up to be blue Monday, and Krafty like the dinner. I was laughing and enjoyed myself.

Bernard, aka the eternal songbird, is the best singer ever because he is not trying to be a star singer, of which many of that ilk are insufferably noisy |

About halfway through listening to this now. It's okay quite interesting to hear different perspective but the constant getting facts wrong thing these guys do is getting hard work. Like, there is a different version of Love Vigilantes on Substance? Bizarre Love Triangle was only released as the B-side of State of the Nation? Perfect Kiss was only on the CD version of Substance? Lol

Wow, these podcast guys are dumb.By the end they were going on about how "New Order did 55 tours in 2016".So if we take for example a North America tour of, say, 8 dates that makes at least 55x8 gigs in 2016 = 440 gigs.Wow, Bernard, or "Ber-nard" as the said 2 dumbasses seem insistent on referring to him as must have been totally exhausted by the end of those 55 tours. But hey, they probably also think Donald Trump cares about the working American man.Give me strength.
