It was weird seeing it on the front page of the gossip section of NYPOST, a popular paper in nyc

Some wounds just won’t heal.

Wednesday saw the launch of the official Joy Division Twitter account. While this may have been a fun event for some of the legendary post-punk outfit’s fans, it left one member of the band fuming.

Less than an hour after New Order announced the news — on Twitter, naturally — Peter Hook, the group’s former bassist and one of the founding members of Joy Division, voiced his displeasure.

The tweet is the latest chapter in a never-ending spat between Hook and his former bandmates.

In 2011, after New Order reformed after a four-year hiatus, Hook took to his website (via Pitchfork) to voice his displeasure with the development.

“Everyone knows that NEW ORDER without PETER HOOK is like QUEEN without FREDDIE MERCURY, U2 without THE EDGE, SOOTY without SWEEP!” he wrote at the time.

The posting came just months after the bassist called out Joy Division/New Order bandmate Bernard Sumner in an interview with the Guardian.

“The truth is, Bernard’s a t–t, and he always has been,” he told the paper.

New Order formed in 1980, shortly after the suicide of Joy Division lead singer Ian Curtis. The band was made up of the surviving members of the group — Hook, Sumner, Stephen Morris, along with Gillian Gilbert, Morris’ then-girlfriend.

The band broke up in 1993 due to tensions between the members but reunited in 1998. In 2007, the band again broke up after Hook left for good.

Hook and his band the Light are set to play New Order’s third and fourth albums, 1985’s “Low-Life” and 1986’s “Brotherhood,” at two special concerts later this month.

Seems Hooky is following every step from Bernard and Co. every time... He's clearly obsessed. No
