Was skimming through Discogs at work this lunchtime and found this split 7" promo featuring Hot Chip covering Transmission on the A side and a Joy Division "Demo Version" on the B side:

JD Transmish Demo

Just wondering if anyone knew which Transmission version this is? The finalised War Child box set apparently features the more commonly released version.

News to me...

3:52 running time would suggest the Genetic version.

Yeah or the Peel Session.

If it is the Genetic demo it would mark the only "official" release it's had, wouldn't it?

I don't recall it coming out on any other release (excluding bootlegs of course).

Actually it was (my mistake), Disc 3 of Heart and Soul.

Oh well, mystery solved!

Still, an obscure place for them to sneak out a re-release of it for the first time in 12 years.
