Has anyone ever danced to New Order? Really? I know i've never have. I've jumped up and down and pushed and shoved in the moshpit at the gigs but never danced in a club to them, even BM.The last song i remember really getting into the groove to in a nightclub was Hey Ya by Outkast. One funky tune that mother.New Order are rock/electronic head music that is great to jump around to at the gigs.

Thanks again wrote:Has anyone ever danced to New Order? Really? I know i've never have. I've jumped up and down and pushed and shoved in the moshpit at the gigs but never danced in a club to them, even BM. Yep I've definitely danced to BM, more than once. Off the top of my head Erol Alkan is the biggest 'name' dj I've witnessed playing it. I also once found myself dancing to Regret as the "one more tune" at the end of a dj set. Not even a remix, just the standard version. Maybe that's why, on the rare occasions that I get to see NO (or Hooky recently) doing BM live, I'm naively surprised that people are jumping up and down when I expect them to dance. The Japanese DJ Sugiurumn dropped 'World In Motion' and there were people dancing. At the same event, Mani did some DJing and he dropped 'Regret'. It was so crowded so you couldn't dance freely, but there were people moving about. I didn't see people jump or push or shove. Then again, maybe in Japan we dance to New Order, not jump to New Order.

One of my favourite records in a favourite club also Darren Ermerson played a remix at a concert I went to and I got him to play it again at a club I was in on my Birthday so yes Ive certainly danced to Blue Monday

BLT, True Faith = dancing 1994, turned 18 and began my 5-6 year regular attendance of an 80s club in Atlanta, GA USA. Not a lot of risk in the song choices (in hindsight), but it was fun. I've only jumped up and down once, at a Cypress Hill concert. |

Is that Mixmag list really the greatest dance tracks of all time?
Or the greatest dance tracks that the man in the street will also have heard?
Bit middle of the road, innit. Each one seems to be a chart hit?
Nice to see no one's forgotten about Daft Punk though.
Energy 52 should've been way higher, mind, and the Deadmau5 entry should have been Strobe, and not that dreadful thing with vocals.

i've danced to new order many times, i'm amazed that's even up for debate. most recently BLT at 'feeling gloomy' on a packed dancefloor. the last time i remember dancing to BM was at a school disco, though.

Blue Monday is highly danceable.
The list is pretty middle of the road... Very lacking in Rave stuff for example.
One More Time best ever dance track= Nonsense. |

This is what the Mixmag 'greatest dance tracks of all time' looked like just over 11 years ago. Linky thingSame tracks, different order. With Blue Monday previously at no.8 And I said above that Energy 52 should be way higher! It was once. Edited by user 27 February 2013 03:27:35(UTC)
